A gentle revolution in how we create change
If you’ve tried everything — the breathing exercises, the parenting books, the mindfulness apps — and still find yourself snapping at your child, you’re not failing. You’re just working with the wrong part of your mind.
Your conscious mind (the part reading this) only controls 5% of your reactions. The other 95%? That’s your subconscious — programmed in childhood, running on autopilot, and surprisingly resistant to willpower alone.
Psych-K speaks directly to that 95%.
How Psych-K Works
The science of lasting change
Psych-K utilises what’s called a “whole-brain state” — a balanced, integrated state where both hemispheres of the brain communicate clearly. When we’re stressed, overwhelmed, or triggered, one side of the brain often dominates, making us reactive, emotional, or shut down.
In a Whole-Brain State, your nervous system settles, clarity returns, and new beliefs can take root.
Psych-K balances both sides, allowing you to:
- Access calm even in triggering moments
- Replace limiting beliefs with empowering ones
- Create new neural pathways that support patience and presence
- Release old patterns without reliving painful memories
During our sessions, I guide you through simple, gentle processes called “balances.” These usually involve specific postures, movements, or affirmations — all designed to communicate directly with your subconscious mind.
You don’t need to believe it will work. Your subconscious does the work, not your skeptical conscious mind.
Why Phych-K Works for Parents
Especially parents of high-needs children
Traditional therapy asks you to understand your triggers. Parenting strategies give you scripts to follow. But when your child is melting down in the grocery store, you don’t need understanding or scripts — you need a nervous system that stays regulated.
Phych-K changes your automatic responses at the deepest level. Parents often tell me:
“I responded completely differently, without even trying” “The same behavior doesn’t trigger me anymore” “I didn’t have to remember any techniques — I just stayed calm”
This is because we’re not adding new strategies on top of old programming. We’re actually rewriting the programming itself.
How Psych-K can shift beliefs
Common Beliefs We Transform
What Happens in a Psych-K Session?
Simple, gentle, and deeply effective
1. We start with what matters most to you
You share your current situation, challenges or goals, and how you’d like to feel or respond instead.
2. We choose the right pathway
Together, we create goal statements or use a stress-transformation protocol — depending on what will support you best.
3. We complete the Psych-K balances
Through simple movements and focused intention, we communicate directly with your subconscious to integrate the change.
4. The shift happens immediately.
There’s no pushing or practicing. You naturally begin responding with more calm, clarity, and connection — often right away.
The amazing part? Children often shift in response to your shift, without us working directly with them.
Is Phych-K Right for You?
Phych-K is powerful
It’s especially powerful if you:
- Feel triggered by your child despite loving them deeply
- Notice you’re repeating patterns from your own childhood
- Can’t seem to stay calm no matter how hard you try
- Want lasting change, not just coping strategies
- Are ready to heal yourself to help your child

Is Psych-K a form of hypnosis or meditation?
No. While it shares some benefits with both—like deep relaxation and subconscious access—Psych-K is a “do-with” process, not a “do-to” process. You are fully awake, alert, and in control the entire time. Unlike hypnosis, where a therapist might make suggestions to you, Psych-K uses specific movements and postures (balances) to get your brain into a ‘Whole-Brain State,’ allowing you to change your own beliefs consciously.
How is this different from traditional talk therapy?
Talk therapy primarily engages the conscious mind (the 5%) to analyse the past and understand why you struggle. Psych-K engages the subconscious mind (the 95%) to change how you react right now. We don’t need to spend hours dissecting your childhood trauma to shift it. We focus on where you are now and where you want to be, making it often faster and less emotionally draining than traditional counselling.
Is it safe? Will I uncover memories I don't want to revisit?
It is very safe and gentle. Psych-K comes with built-in permission protocols—we literally ask your system if it is safe and appropriate to make a change before we proceed. Because we focus on the future (the goal) rather than the past (the trauma), you don’t need to relive painful memories to release their hold on you.
What does a "Balance" actually look like? Do I have to be physically fit?
A Balance is simply a posture or movement designed to integrate the left and right hemispheres of your brain. It might look like crossing your ankles and wrists while sitting in a chair, or tapping specific points on your body. It requires no physical fitness or flexibility—it’s about nervous system regulation, not exercise.
Is Psych-K spiritual or religious?
Psych-K is a tool, not a religion. It is spiritual in the sense that it helps you connect with your deeper self and intuition, but it requires no specific religious beliefs. It is used successfully by people of all faiths, as well as those who are secular or agnostic, to clear the mental blocks preventing them from living peacefully.
Can I do Psych-K on my child?
We focus on you, the parent. Children are incredibly perceptive; they regulate their nervous systems off of yours (co-regulation). When you shift your subconscious response from frustration to calm, the environment in your home changes, and your child’s behaviour often shifts in response. We change the dynamic by changing your output.
How many sessions will I need?
Unlike therapy which can continue for years, Psych-K is results-oriented. Many parents feel a significant physical and emotional shift in a single issue after just one session. However, because parenting triggers are often layered (guilt, fear, perfectionism, rage), a series of 3–5 sessions is often recommended to address the different aspects of your parenting experience.
